sad girl and a cute outfit

 cailin was all tears in the car the other

day because i didn't bring the ipad with us

on our errand running adventure. obsessed much?

even though she was such a sad sally

she was dressed really cute and had a fun 

afternoon playing outside and looking SO CUTE!

yeah, we have fun.

on a chilly fall night

we took cailin to a pumpkin patch/farmer's market/

outside sesame street movie/hayride on friday night.

she had fun running around, looking cute, and stealing grapes.

nana and cailin watching sesame street halloween.

she lasted about 6 minutes.

and then was inside stealing grapes,

hiding while she stuffed them in her mouth,

and watching the singing dog and cat while

stuffing her face full of stolen grapes.

then we went back outside for a ghost tattoo,

which she wore proudly.

and then took a chilly hayride around the building

with GLOW STICKS!!!!!

then ended the night with a pretend ride on the tractor.

it was a pretty good night for little c.

run like a girl

my mom and i ran a little 4 mile race this morning.

it was SO FUN.  its an all girls race here in richmond.

we had the best time and my mom is a rockstar for keeping

up considering she hurt her back a few days ago.  

i did my personal best and we ran the race in 34:30.

that's about 8:45/mile.  i was stoked.

cailin goes to a fun play group thingy on

tuesdays from 10-12 with a bunch of other

kiddies around her age.  my sweet friend darla 

is one of the adults who is in charge and has let

cailin come and join the bunch.  she started going

in the spring and would cry, sometimes as soon as

brady would pull into the parking lot.  after the summer

break she quickly adjusted to her time away from mama 

and daddy and now cries when its time to leave.  what a change.

here she is this week right before they left.  i dressed her all

cute because she had been so excited for days before she got

to go and "see darya and the kids and the toys."

she was posing like the best of them.  here are a few

of my favorite shots i got of her that morning.

a choo choo train

this little one LOVES trains.  we took her to

short pump mall last week to ride the

train and get some pizza from her uncle

matty (tee tee) from CPK.

it was a fun evening out and because of her

love of trains she has insisted that she be 

"a choo choo train" for halloween.  we'll see how that goes.

lately cailin has been really into her toys.

we spend a lot of days with our living room

looking like this.

she loves to pull everything out of her toy box

and cabinet and we move from toy to toy

playing and building.

here's her favorite treehouse complete

 with horse and 2 fairies.

her tea set is another big hit.  she likes to

get her animals out and serve them tea.

she also likes to "play" mario or 

donkey kong (gorilla) with daddy.

um.... you're doing it wrong.

beach trip

a couple weeks ago we took our first

family vaca to the beach in NC.  we had

 a blast and enjoyed being together for a full week

without any interruptions.  although these 

pictures don't show it we were there with my

mom for part of the week and then some friends 

of ours came for the second half of the week.

i got a few of them, but wish i had more.

we had so much fun and hope to do it again

next summer or sometime soon.

we went down to the beach the first morning we were 

there to check out the waves and explore.

this one had a rough first night and wasn't

cooperating by taking a nap so she fell

asleep on our bike ride around the town.

she liked being buried, but broke out

one day was a little cold and windy 

so we went to the dunes in kitty hawk to run around.

its rare that she even picks up a doll so 

i had to document her playing with these barbies.

she loved playing in the sand and 

kept herself busy the majority of the time.

this is about as close as she got to the

water all on her own.  she was not interested

in actually getting in.  i took her in up to my 

waist on the last day and she cried and kept

telling me, "out mama, out.  to the sand.  to the sand."

the last day we visited the ocean front pool.  it was really

windy and cool so we didn't stay long before we headed back home.
