happy halloween

we took cailin down town to hanover street again

this halloween for some trick or treating fun.

this is a really fun neighborhood because 

most houses decorate and go all out and tons

of people are dressed up and ready to celebrate.

cailin insisted that she dress up as a choo choo train.

so after many weeks of asking her what she wanted

 to be and getting the same answer i went to work on this

beauty.  i had fun making it and more importantly she LOVED it.

she kept saying, "my wear choo choo train.  my wear it."

it was a big hit.  and i'm was so happy that she wore it 

 and the conductor's hat all night.  way to go little lady!!

 cailin and nana took a break before we 

decided to walk back to the car.

we had walked 6 or 7 blocks.  she was tired.

hitching a ride on daddy's shoulders on the way back to the car.

 then we stopped at chick fil a for dinner.

the night was a huge success and we had a BLAST!!!

carving pumpkins

we carved pumpkins yesterday.  brady's mom (nana)

came over to join in the fun.  cailin loved the 

"punkins", but had no desire to touch the

goop inside.  

we have no patience when it comes to doing

the intricate designs and after trying the

tape on patterns for 5 minutes brade decided

to get out his power tools to finish the faces.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

its that time...

time for the vibrant colors to come out in the trees.

time for cailin to be obsessed with pumpkins, or punkins.

time for our neighbors to litter their yards with

crazy fun halloween decorations.

and time for brade to make his annual gross stew.

bowdidilytech stew to be exact.  it supposed to be a pot full

of whatever you have in your pantry and/or fridge.  i don't carry a lot of the 

grossness that goes into this stew like spaghetti O's and butter beans

and stew beef to name a few so he did have to go to the store to get some ingredients.  

needless to say he's the only one in this house that eats this pot full of yuck.

apple picking

we met my good friend britt at carter 

mountain on friday for some apple 

picking fun.  they also had a pumpkin patch

which cailin was more interested in.

she constantly said, "punkins, punkins".

and you'll notice that cailin doesn't look into the

camera for any of these pictures.  she absolutely refused.

 her own baby sized pumpkin.

 jess happened to be there too and 

that made cailin very happy.  she kept telling

me "bye bye mama, jess hold you", or 

"no, stop mama, jess do it."

 here's proof britt was actually there.  

she was a good tree climber.

 mmmm, fresh apple.

 most of the good apples were at the top

of the trees so you really had to climb

up to get the good ones.

 "no mama, no mama.  my down.  my down."

 she found one just within her reach.

 prompting jess to help her over all the apples

with a mouth full of apple.

 weeeeee heeeeee.  "i fast.  i fast."
