pumpkin patch

we went out to a really fun pumpkin

patch yesterday.  it was out in the middle of no

where at lloyd's family farm.

here's my crazy girl all excited before we left.

 she thinks she's so funny.

it was a super successful visit.  

nature

we went for a little walk through rockwood 

park today to collect "bootiful" leaves

and visit the nature center.

 and when we got home this is what 

we made with the leaves.  

its just the leaves ironed in between 

2 pieces of wax paper.

and to top it all off i signed cailin up for a 

nature sprouts program that they offer at the

park.  its every wednesday morning for an hour.

pretty cool.  

randoms

i've had a few pics on my phone that sort of stand on 

their own.  they are too cute not to share.

cailin really missed brade when we were in

california.  she ran down the hallway at the airport

yelling his name his name until she caught up to him 

and jumped into his arms.  it was super cute.  then

she took his hat and wore it while they walked 

hand in hand while we waiting for our luggage.

butterfly exhibit

a couple of weeks ago i met a friend and

her daughter at lewis ginter botanical gardens

to see their butterfly exhibit.  it was nice to

get out, be with good friends, and see 

something different.

cailin brought her guitar so that she

could play the butterflies a song.  she didn't really

do that.  instead she watched me and my friend

darla sing our own silly butterfly songs.

rock climbers

 we took a little stroll down around the

james river a couple weekends ago.

cailin was decked out with her

witch hat, wand, and rain boots.

 we came to the cliffs at belle isle and

brady decided to let cailin do some "climbing"

of her own.

 i just love these two.

 and that's my city.

santa barbara zoo

while in california we spent an afternoon

at the santa barbara zoo.  it was a perfect

sized zoo for my little stroller refusing 

cailin.  she was able to walk around the whole

time without complaints and they had a fun

play area which she loved and she got to

feed the giraffes too.  and we ended our

time in santa barbara by feeding ourselves

at this really yummy restaurant that we

 just happened upon.  it was a good day.

ventura harbor

while in california we took a little trip to the

ventura harbor.  we had a fun time exploring the

little museum, playing in the arcade, and

riding the paddle boats in the marina.
