water fountain fun

the other day we went to stony point mall
to let cailin run around and see if she
would be interested in running through the
fountains that spray out water. she had a
great time and we had a great time watching her.


she was very cautious at first. it took her a while to
warm up to the idea of running through the water.

so she started with testing out the waters. haha, pun intended.

and then had a blast running through.
i LOVE this face. too cute.

she ended the day with a ride from this nice doggie.

fake cry

lately cailin has been doing this fake cry that comes with
a very attractive face. now you wouldn't think anything from
this picture of her eating breakfast this morning.

but the cry starts and you get a face like this...

...and it turns into this. if she keeps this up i'm sure the boys
will be after her when she's a teenager.

diaper head

the other day brady put this diaper on cailin's head for fun.
she loved it. every time it fell off she brought it back to
one of us to put it back on. she wore it around the house
for probably an hour, just walking around and playing.

my wobbly walker

cailin is getting very good at the walking business.
here she is a couple days ago showing off her skills.
she now likes to take laps around the room.

seven years

today we celebrate our 7th anniversary
and i still feel the same way now that i did
7 years ago. best decision i ever made.

we've had some fun times as well as hard times,
but i wouldn't have it any other way. i'm
excited to share my life with brade and
see where these next several years take us.

11 months

well baby C was 11 months yesterday. pretty soon she won't be baby C
anymore. how sad. she's so much fun and overall a happy baby.
she's done a lot of new things in the past month which has
been so fun to watch. we adore this little lady.

her latest tricks and milestones include:

walks more than crawls
LOVES books
has 5 teeth
does a fake laugh after you laugh
waves bye bye
gives kisses
still wears 6-9 month clothes
loves any kind of bean
loves to clap and give high 5's
dive bombs off the couch and chair and ottoman
sleeps 12-13 hours a night with one 2-3 hour nap in the day
loves to throw her food on the ground when she's done

moms

in honor of mothers day i want to take a few
minutes to express my love and gratitude for
the 2 women in my life that i consider my mothers.

first is brady's mom debbie. even though i've known
debbie for a lot longer she's been my "mother" for 7 years now.

1. she's a great nana and LOVES to have cailin over anytime.
2. she raised a wonderful son who truly knows how to treat his lady.
3. she always passes along the greatest books for me to read.
4. when making dinner she always makes a lindsay
sized dish without the onions.
5. she loves anything crime scene related and would love to be a CSI.
6. she's a great elementary school teacher.
7. she works hard to give her kids (brady and bryn) the best and
always makes sure they have what they need.
8. we both share a love for french fries.
9. she's very thoughtful and is a big support to both brady and me.
10. she is very technologically challenged, but is lucky to have a
son who is a technological genius.

now onto my mom.

1. she's a great listener.
2. she always calls me after getting her haircut
and/or color to tell me how awesome it is.
3. she whoops my butt in tennis.
4. she's got RAD legs and i've been very jealous
of them for quite some time now.
5. she forgets things a lot and as annoying as it is
she does realize that she has no memory and apologizes for it.
6. she's a great mimi and comes over to watch cailin when i need her.
7. she is very understanding and helps me through tough times in my life.
8. she's a total dork for american idol.
9. she survives off of nuts and berries. no joke.
10. she's a very hard worker and lives by the motto that
if a job is to be done right, its to be done by her. haha!!

beachin' it

last week we went down to kure beach in
north carolina with all the girls from the salon.
the weather was great and the company
was even better. with the exception of cailin's lack
of sleeping at night it was a perfect vaca.

she loved the sand and playing in buckets of water.

timeout for a mid-morning snack.

mallory was the best babysitter. cailin LOVED her.
i'm pretty sure the feeling was mutal.

in the morning when i'm getting ready i turn
on PBS kids and get out toys to keep cailin
entertained while i'm doing my thing.
about 3 weeks ago i caught her "dancing" to
the theme song of super why. we got it on
video a couple days later and boy am i glad
because she doesn't do it anymore.

put her toys in his mouth and shook them.
