a couple weeks ago we took our first
family vaca to the beach in NC. we had
a blast and enjoyed being together for a full week
without any interruptions. although these
pictures don't show it we were there with my
mom for part of the week and then some friends
of ours came for the second half of the week.
i got a few of them, but wish i had more.
we had so much fun and hope to do it again
next summer or sometime soon.
here is cailin waiting patiently for daddy
to load up the truck. she got a new back pack
and stuffed it full with her favorite toys and snacks.
we stopped at a cute farmer's market
on the way down. here's cailin sneaking
some grapes before we paid for them.
my little pole dancer.
we went down to the beach the first morning we were
there to check out the waves and explore.
this one had a rough first night and wasn't
cooperating by taking a nap so she fell
asleep on our bike ride around the town.
cailin waiting for daddy to get the kite up in the air.
too bad that never happened. cheap kite didn't fly.
she was really happy to take a picture with me.
"uh oh, daddy's stuck."
she liked being buried, but broke out
very quickly each time.
lining up her choo choo trains at the house.
one day was a little cold and windy
so we went to the dunes in kitty hawk to run around.
its rare that she even picks up a doll so
i had to document her playing with these barbies.
here's cailin hanging with the "big girls" eating
M&M's.
here's selwyn digging our big hole
with the help of his twin girls.
with the help of his twin girls.
my little mowgali.
she loved the stairs and spent a lot of
time going up and down them.
another train playing morning.
cailin and daddy walking to the beach to
crab hunt one evening.
and we got plenty of ice cream cones.
or ice keem keem cones as cailin likes to call them.
cheeeeeeeese!!!
getting comfy and waiting for brady
to turn on curious george.
new shades.
she loved playing in the sand and
kept herself busy the majority of the time.
this is about as close as she got to the
water all on her own. she was not interested
in actually getting in. i took her in up to my
waist on the last day and she cried and kept
telling me, "out mama, out. to the sand. to the sand."
the last day we visited the ocean front pool. it was really
windy and cool so we didn't stay long before we headed back home.
trying to get out of the wind.
bye bye beach!!!
