appomattox

my dad and his wife jen came into town yesterday to
visit for a week. today we took a trip out to appomattox.
its a historic site here in virginia where part of the
civil war was fought. it was pretty interesting hearing
the story our guide told us about the war.

this guy was awesome. he was our guide and stayed in
character the whole time. he acted like he was still living
in the 1860's. he was very entertaining and fun to listen to.
we had to ask him if we could capture his likeness as opposed
asking him if we could take his picture because that would
confuse him considering they didn't have cameras
in the 1860's. my dad wanted his likeness captured too.
