my little three year old

my baby (big girl) is three today.

i have a hard time grasping that.  three.

she's been the best first child.  a dream really.

makes me really scared to have second.

she's fun, funny, happy, sensitive, silly, 

good natured, grateful and makes me 

a very proud mama.  

i love how her legs are positioned here.

all she asked for was a purple cupcake.

we went to this cute little sweets store

and i asked them to put a little purple whatever

on this vanilla cupcake.  it wasn't awesome, but she was happy.

just a day on the beach

a couple weeks ago we drove out to 

williamsburg to have a beach day

with drew and amanda.

all suited up and ready for the beach.

we got to drew and amanda's

cailin fell in love with their fish.

she was very excited to feed him.

then we made our way to college creek

beach.  it was on the bay side so no waves

which was perfect for my timid little "swimmer".

we had a super fun day with 

drew and amanda and can't wait 

to do it again.  seriously, cailin

asks me almost every day when we

can go back.  

potty training woes

we spent all last weekend cooped up at home

with cailin in potty training boot camp.

the first day was HARD.  and really 

frustrating, but she got the pee pee on the 

potty down quick.  in a day and half she 

was 100% pee pee trained.  poop has been 

a totally different story.  she says its "scary"

but she has gone on the potty 3 times which

i figure is enough to know its not scary.

we have had several poop in the underwear episodes

and LOTS AND LOTS of false alarms.

she cries and tells me she needs to poop, we go

sit on the potty only to have her say i don't want/need

to and then get down.  we have done that process at least

50 times and i'm not exaggerating.  and it usually

ends with her leaving a nice doody in her undies after

several hours of the on the potty off the potty dance.  

one positive i guess is that at least she's pooping.

i would have a whole different problem on my hands 

if she just held it in.  we'll get there soon.

run like a girl race......again

today my mom and i ran another

run like a girl race.  this one was a trail

run.  it was much harder but better scenery for sure.

the really warm temps didn't help me and i actually

was much slower than i would have liked.

my awesome mom on the other hand beat

 me by almost 2 minutes AND won first place 

in her age group.  ya, she's pretty hardcore.  

on the medal stand claiming victory.

the third place chick took off before

she was awarded her prize.  too bad for her.

cailin had her first very own smoothie

a little while back.  she loved it and

insisted that it was a pink slushy.  

sure chicky, whatever you say.

she is such a good sharer.

she was super excited to throw all the lose change

i had into this wishing well at our favorite

farmer's market.

 and these were just cute so i wanted to share them.

lunch date

we had a great lunch a little while back 

with these 2.  amanda and my brother drew.

cailin doesn't like amanda at all.  can you tell?

fun with friends

a couple weeks ago my BFF brittney

came to richmond with her 2 cute kiddos.

we met for lunch, did a little shopping

and let the kids play.  we love

out again when they are teenagers.
