easter with nana

you would have thought it was christmas around

here with all the things cailin got for easter.

its a little much if you ask me, but i'm not going to

stop people from buying things for this little lady.

nana got cailin this fun bubble blowing lawn mower.

she was running after daddy to get it back.

she recently has really enjoyed bubble blowing

and says "bubbles" in the cutest little cailin voice.

she's not very good at blowing bubbles herself.

so she recruited daddy to help her.

and then nana.

she had an easter basket full of fun treats waiting for her when we got inside

she liked opening every egg, dumping out its contents and stuffing her face.

then she did her own little "hunt" out in nana's front yard.

she would dump the contents in her basket and then

throw the empty egg back in the bushes.

having a little mimi nana time when it was all said and done.

cailin ate WAY too much sugar today. she was a crazy woman starting about

15 minutes after this picture was taken. i've never seen her act so hyper. it was

pretty funny, but i think we'll lay off the candy and sweets for a while.

baby trail mix

so i got this recipe from a girl who i blog stalk. she totally

doesn't know me, but i went to elementary/middle school

with her husband. anyway, i think she's really cute and

has 2 cute boys and and i like to look at her life. haha.

cailin likes this "trail mix", but i think i like it more.

she picks the chocolate chips out and leaves the rest for me.

anyway, heres the recipe anyone is interested.

2C Cheerios

1/4C Agave Nectar

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/3C dried cranberries

1/4C chopped walnuts

1/3C white chocolate chips

mix everything except the chocolate chips and bake for

8 minutes at 350. after its cooled stir in the chocolate chips and enjoy!!!

a day out with mom and dad

cailin had a fun day today. we started this morning with her

stacking these 4 blocks back and forth from my hand to hers.

she spent about 1o minutes doing this.

then we went to the children's museum where she rode the train,

played in the fake sand pit, but she threw one too many fist fulls

of sand at another little girl so we left that area and,

she took all the furniture out of the little house,

harvested some cucumbers,

and made a beautiful painting.

then it was on to cpk where she studied the menu very

intensely and ended up deciding on a cheese pizza.

we must have worn her out because she passed out

not too long after lunch and on our way home.

10K

every year here in richmond there is a 10k race up and down

monument ave downtown. i've said i was going to run this

race for about 4 years now and today was finally the day

that i followed through on that. it was a fun race and i feel

very accomplished to have finished it. i'm not a runner and

completing THE 10k without stopping was a great feeling.

and i made my goal in doing it under an hour. woo hoo!!!

a climber, painted nails, and a new friend

on friday we took cailin to the climbing gym and

harnessed her up. brady hooked her up to a rope and

let her swing back and forth. she wasn't sure at first, but

after a few seconds she started to squeal with delight.

we are starting her young so she hopefully won't be a scaredy

pants kid like her mama was.

on saturday cailin let me paint her nails. i was shocked that she

sat still for as long as she did. it helped that abby's flying fairy school

was on, but she was watching me most of the time.

she was obsessed with her fingers for a while after that. she

couldn't stop looking at them and of course i think its so cute.

then on sunday we were in the backyard enjoying the nice weather

when our neighbor boy Kemonte ran over to play. he was really

nice and patient with cailin. they went down the slide, ran around the

back yard and stopped to swing together.

since the weather was so nice. cailin loved

exploring and roaming around at her own pace.

brady and i were very patient as she stopped every

other second to examine something.

we were looking at the fox on the other side of that fence.
